Care for the whole picture
When a child’s anxiety, mood, attention, sleep, or behavior begins affecting school, friendships, family life, or confidence, families deserve more than a rushed prescription. Steven provides psychiatric evaluations and medication-focused follow-up care for children ages 6 and older and teenagers, with parents or legal guardians involved as appropriate.

What the evaluation considers
Children are still developing, and the same outward behavior can have different causes. An evaluation may consider physical health, development, emotions, learning, family history, relationships, sleep, school functioning, previous treatment, and information from caregivers or other professionals.
Before medication is recommended
- The symptoms or impairments treatment is intended to address
- Why a particular option may or may not fit
- Expected benefits and how progress will be measured
- Common and serious risks to watch for
- Monitoring, follow-up, and what to do if concerns arise
- Nonmedication supports that may also be useful
Family involvement and state scope
A parent or legal guardian must participate when required. SimplyCalm focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management. ADHD medication prescribing is currently available only for eligible patients physically located in Washington, Utah, or Kansas. Other psychiatric medication management is available when clinically appropriate across all eight licensed states.
Find child and teen care in your state
Families can review Utah care and insurance options, including the available SelectHealth and Utah Medicaid booking routes. For ADHD medication prescribing, review the Washington, Utah, or Kansas care page; this service is currently limited to those three states. Other psychiatric concerns can be evaluated in the eight states SimplyCalm serves. Patients must be at least 6 years old and physically located in an eligible state during care.
